Drawings
These montage drawings explore detachment from self and environment. Having been raised in Central New York State, the Mississippi Delta is as foreign of a landscape to me as any remote land could be. The vast plantations, in their inaccessibility, have an alienating effect. Landscape becomes a like a veneer that one could easily slice into. I see the final compositions of cutting, inking, and bonding as a means of integration and disconnection of a body with its surroundings.
